The Division of Justice stated Friday that it has dropped its prison investigation in opposition to former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and won’t press prices in opposition to him.
McCabe was being investigated by the DOJ relating to allegedly improper leaks he made to journalists associated to an investigation into Hillary Clinton, and his claims to investigators about these leaks.
The DOJ’s inner watchdog concluded that McCabe “lacked candor, together with below oath” when answering questions in regards to the leaks.
However in a letter to McCabe’s attorneys, the Justice Division stated that “after cautious consideration, the federal government has determined to not pursue prison prices in opposition to your shopper.”
